February 2nd, 2008An iPod with the Pleasant Appear of an Ice Cube
Stimulated by those photos you see where a diversity of electronic goodies are blow up so you can see all of the divide parts, this guy set out to break his iPod down into pieces and then encase them in resin so that the mechanism could be enjoyed in their separateness in time without end. But wait, there’s more. The guy didn’t just want a paperweight or a chat piece.
He still wanted his little wonder to work. And work it does. A wire sticks out of the bottom of the see-through machine so that the device can be controlled and used and Mr. Jobs future it. It give up function, or at least portability, for the sake of form, but what a form it is. At first, the creator of this piece of sensible art was aggravated because of the bubbles in the resin and he thought he had failed, but the whole thing has the pleasing look of an ice cube. And let me be the first to volunteer to drink the drink that’s big sufficient for that ice cube.
